It was a busy weekend on the road and country for Tavistock run Project.
Three athletes represented Devon at the CAU inter counties cross country at Loughborough, where Ollie Smart celebrated his selection for England at the world schools event next month with a second place finish in the U17 age group and in doing so winning the x challenge series. Later in the day club mates Rachael Malthouse and Hannah Walters competed strongly in the senior ladies category on a course resembling treacle.
Closer to home a number of TRP athletes including Crispin Chambers, Pete Moyse, Laura Evenden and Olivia Langmead participated in the Tamar Trails parkrun.
Sunday saw the start of the spring half marathon season with the Bideford half run along the picturesque Tarka Trail. TRP were well represented with Mike Buckley in his first race for the club recording a time of 1:19. He was followed by Ollie Bielby 1:26, Lewis Mill 1:27, Hannah Smith and Chris Rimmer 1:36, Guy Mammut 1:43 and Hannah Paul representing Plymouth in 1:53.
Next weekend sees Ollie Smart make the long journey up to Liverpool for the English schools x cty while other athletes will take on the Bath half marathon. Finally there is still time to register for the 2nd TRP run clinic at the Bedford Hotel on Wednesday 18th March with guest presenter Hames Marshall of Excellsior Sports.
