With storm Ciara threatening time decimate the weekend racing Tavistock Run Project athletes used the calm before the storm on Saturday to post some impressive performances.
Oliver Smart returning to racing after a slight injury made the journey over to Bournemouth to compete in the South West schools cross country championships. Sixteen year old Oliver representing TRP and Mount Kelly took part in the under 20 age group where he proceeded to dominate a quality field winning comfortably, booking his place to lead Devon at the English schools championship to be held at Liverpool next month.
Closer to home Chris Rimmer and Cass Mcdowall ran the Exeter half marathon. Chris reaped the rewards of his recent training block with an outstanding run to come victorious in a time of 1 hour 11 mins. Meanwhile Cassie set a new personal best to dip under 2hours for the first time.
Finally, looking for a little speed work in his London marathon preparation Corin Russell back on his home patch in Swindon set a new personal best at the Park run.
