It was a return to some kind of normality last week for Tavistock Run Project with athletes taking part in a number of events.
Back home from university and at last free from injury Ed Smart ran strongly at the first Run Exe 5 k. On the flat twisty course Ed ran a solid 16;23 for 7th place.
On Friday a little bit of history was made with the TRP vest visible at the Muller British champs in Manchester. Ollie Smart qualified for the under 20 3000metres which doubled as a Euro qualifier.In a scrappy race Ollie was left disappointed finishing outside the qualifiers in 8:31well outside of his recent pb. Next up is the England Schools on the same track where he will hope to turn the tables on some of his adversaries.
Closer to home Ben Neale turned out at Meavy on Saturday for the Burrator Horseshoe, a tough multi terrain event which takes in Burrator and Sheepstor. Despite some mishaps Ben came home victorious.
Sunday saw a number of athletes tow the start line in the Exeter half marathon. Some outstanding performances followed. Liam Nicholls reaped the benefits of a consistent training block taking 3rd place in a time of 1hr 13 min exceeding his expectations. He was followed by Mike Buckley 1;17, Alex Peyton Jones fresh off a marathon 1;19, Lewis Mill 1;22, Crispin Chambers ,Matt Teague 1;26, Corrine Russell 1;29 and Claire Frazer 1;32.
Finally, Graeme Ash took part in the Summer Solstice Fell Race taking 1st in his age group and followed that up with 17th place on Sunday at the Coastal Smugglers Scuttler.
